The promise
YTM Mini does not create user accounts, run advertising, sell personal information, or use behavioral analytics. Playback controls, queue management, search, and the visualizer operate inside your browser and the YouTube Music tab.
Information leaves your device only when a feature needs a network connection and you have chosen to use that feature.
What stays on your device
Extension preferences, cached lyrics, remote settings, and Broadcast settings are kept in browser extension storage. You can remove them by clearing extension data or uninstalling YTM Mini.
YTM Mini reads the active YouTube Music page only to provide the controls and information shown in the extension. It does not transmit your general browsing history.
Optional network features
Phone remote
When you pair a phone, the signaling service receives a hashed room ID derived from the pairing code and relays WebRTC connection descriptions and network candidates over WSS. The pairing code itself is not sent. Google and Twilio STUN services process network addresses to help establish the connection. Once connected, control and playback frames travel peer-to-peer with AES-GCM encryption.
trigger · pair remoteBroadcast + Explore
When you turn on Broadcast, your chosen public name, current track, playback progress, cover URL, and queue metadata appear publicly in Explore. A daily chart keeps aggregate track activity for the current UTC day. Broadcast is off by default.
trigger · enable broadcastLyrics
When lyrics are enabled and page-provided lyrics are unavailable, YTM Mini may send track title, artist, album, duration, and related search metadata to LRCLIB to find a match. Lyrics are off by default.
recipient · lrclib.netLifecycle pages
On first install, the extension opens the Installed page with its version and browser in the URL. After uninstall, the browser opens a feedback page whose URL also contains a signed code. These requests may appear in Cloudflare request logs even if you do not submit feedback.
trigger · install or uninstallUninstall feedback
If you choose to submit feedback after uninstalling, YTM Mini stores the selected reason, optional comments, optional contact detail, extension version, browser, and submission time. The signed uninstall code is validated and then discarded from the stored feedback record.
trigger · send feedbackKeeping the service running
Cloudflare hosts the website, signaling service, Broadcast feed, and operational logs. Logs record request outcomes, errors, extension version and browser on feedback, and aggregate signaling connection counts. YTM Mini does not add account identifiers, pairing codes, track names, or signaling message contents to operational events.
Standard network infrastructure may process information such as IP address, user agent, timestamps, and requested URLs. Google Fonts may receive similar request metadata when the website loads its typefaces. Google and Twilio process network metadata when their STUN services are used for phone-remote setup.

- Ask about or request deletion of identifiable feedback.
YTM Mini uses HTTPS, WSS, WebRTC encryption, and AES-GCM where applicable. No internet service can promise absolute security, but data collection is kept intentionally small.
